The little learners of Year 1 got a preview of the next year’s curriculum. They were excited to learn in advance what awaits them in the new academic year. There were enriching activities that lead to high engagement in learning which was evident as students harnessed creative writing skills, scientific enquiry, artistic skills, and critical thinking skills during the transition days. The children truly enjoyed these days and look forward to what awaits them in the next academic year.
The little learners of Year 2 have been the shining stars, through the academic year in various areas. The Celebration Assembly was aimed to remark the accomplishments made by the students in areas like being punctual for the sessions, showcasing responsible behaviour, star of the week, being kind and compassionate and many more. Children thoroughly enjoyed the assembly as their achievements were appreciated and rewarded with a certificate.
Students dressed up as and shared the character traits of their favourite characters from the novel Mr Popper’s Penguins.
The little adventurers of Year 2 engaged in an enriching virtual tour of London. They loved travelling virtually to Buckingham Palace and London zoo and other different parts in London. Though they were not able to travel to any other place outside their classroom, they were led into a world outside their windows and down to landmarks in London. At the end, they wanted to experience all over it again.
The little learners of KS1 celebrated World Earth Day and learnt about the importance of Earth Day and why it is celebrated Worldwide. They became aware of 4 main points to keep in mind to take care of their environment, to raise awareness among students about climate change and thus global warming Earth Day was celebrated for all students on the 21st of April. A video on Earth day was created and shared by the leaders of student government body to act towards the protection of the environment and focus on the need for conservation. Students were involved in recording videos to inspire the community on the preservation of the natural resources available with Mother Earth.
Year 2 students had a mystery reader during the parental engagement session. Jhei and her mum dressed up as geese, read the story. Students were completely immersed. The session came to a close with questions by the parent on the features of a story.
The KS1 students dressed up in their PJ’s and had a great time reading and listening to their favourite stories. A wonderful experience cherished by our students as they engaged in storytelling to end the term in a memorable way.
Year 2 students enthusiastically participated in the STREAM Week and found out creative solutions to save the Chapatti man, from the story “The Great Chapatti Chase.” Some students created boat, drones and bridges using recyclable materials and building blocks to save the main character of the story while others used TUX paint to design the same to show their creative skills. The little learners spoke enthusiastically about the two basic mindsets that shape our lives. The topic was well explained by giving few examples of great personalities who succeeded in their lives with their growth mindset. They concluded with the slogan “Failure is success if we learn from it”. |
