Students made every effort to recite their respective poems with utmost clarity and expressions, focussing immensely on pronunciation and articulation. This event helped to wake up genuine fondness for the language among the young orators. They expressed their gladness in becoming more confident speakers.
The day was celebrated to create an awareness among students on the potential risk of interacting with strangers. An awareness on the negative effects of bullying was created in an effort to educate children to identify, report and cope effectively with the menace, thus emancipating themselves and their peers from the anti-social behavior. It was an overwhelming sight to see the young singers, eager to perform their respective songs, being dressed in vibrant attires symbolic of their themes. Each section presented their song, with amazing confidence, voice modulation and intonation. Their enthusiasm seemed to have no bounds and each student took up the given opportunities to exhibit their singing skills, rather gracefully. Our school had its annual Fun Fair on 9th March, 2018. Year 2 had exciting activities like: Roll to Goal and Ring the Cone. Many who came to the Fun Fair, enjoyed trying their skills at Tossing the rings around the cones. Others were enthusiastic about rolling the balls in the goals to score a total of 100 or more to win the prize. It was an experience every one enjoyed. International Women’s day was an opportunity to appreciate the role of the most important woman in the life of a child – ‘Mother.’ Children pondered the countless ways they were blessed in the guise of their Mother.
The literacy day was organised to focus on improving reading and writing skills. The activities planned for the day were: writing sentences-using the punctuations learnt, composing short poems and telling a story in 10 words! The other students chose to compose poems and going around with these in their pockets, reciting them, thus earning points. The 10 word stories actuated hilarious narrations that motivated the otherwise indifferent students to contribute effectively. The sports day was celebrated with great enthusiasm and fervour by all the students of Year 2 and a few parents. It was certainly a fun-filled day, with numerous multi – skill based activities, planned to boost the sportsmanship in every child. Every participant left the ground being convinced that zealous participation is more essential than winning.The ‘Sports Day’ witnessed a rush of adrenaline for individual events and cohesion in team work, thus, making the dream work! Students of Year 2 celebrated National day with great fervour. The celebration was split into several events. Various activities were scheduled in the class which children enjoyed with great enthusiasm. Activities like students speaking about UAE for one minute, some students spoke about their home country followed by a presentation on the UAE, the parade , quiz was conducted in the class which students enjoyed and participated enthusiastically. The whole school sung the National Anthem of UAE with great spirit. Year 2 visited the Lost Chamber (Atlantis) on Tuesday, 28th November 2017. It was an exciting place for students as they were learning about different habitats in Science including Marine Habitat. Students observed different types of sea creatures and were challenged to explore their adaptations that help these creatures to survive in their habitat. |
