On Thursday 4th May, Year 2 had their Annual Song Competition. It was a wonderful experience to watch and listen to the mesmerising vocalist of Year 2, singing in perfect harmony. The choice of songs were excellent. Hats off to all Teachers, Learning Partners and Mr Kiko & Mr Sunil from the musical score. Another calendar event to be cherished. On Thursday 20th April, it was field trip time for Year 2 students as they excitedly went to Little Explorers at the Mirdif City Centre. There was a fantastic line up of activities for the students. They experienced fun filled focussed areas of discovery including: All together, I can do, I discover myself, I experiment and I locate myself ,at the heart of Little Explorers in the interactive and dynamic workshops space. Children explored, learnt and played together in a variety of hands-on activities to enrich their learning in the classroom. I woke up in the morning feeling ecstatic, for today was a very important day. Today was the day when I and my 6 year old little brother were going to run a three kilometer race. This was a huge deal for us, I mean it’s not every day you get to run such races do you? I noticed the sun wasn’t out yet as it was quite early in the morning. “Good morning honey, are you excited for the race?” asked my mom. “Can’t wait!” I replied with a wide grin on my face. I wished my dad ‘good morning’ and smiled a little looking at his attempts to try wake my brother up. Finally we were all ready to leave the house. We grabbed our sweaters and sat I the car. “So, are you guys excited for the race?” My dad asked us. “Of course!” “Can’t wait!” me and Adonis replied together. After a while we reached ‘The Sevens’ where the race, Dubai Desert Road Run was being held. My mum and dad greeted few of their friends as we made our way towards the meeting point. We warmed ourselves with a few warm drinks as it was awfully cold outside. We then made our way around talking to people as there was still a little time before the race started, as we met people my dad then introduced us to Nick Watson. He was the man who came to talk to us about his son and how he does many races with him and about #Team Angel Wolf. He was there for the ten kilometer race. Sometime later an announcement was made asking us to move towards the starting line as the race was about to begin. “3, 2, 1, GO!” and we all started running, starting at an easy pace. It felt amazing looking at so many people run. It took us a little time to pick up pace since it was freezing outside and it was hard to move around but eventually we did and started enjoying the view. It was amazing! I ran with my mum, while my brother not too far away ran with my dad. We ran until we saw the finish line, and that’s when I started to sprint. I crossed the finish line with a proud face. It was really amazing how I accomplished something like that. It had to be one of the happiest moments of my life. Soon my brother finished too. We both felt really proud as we received the medals. We both are looking forward to taking part in more such activities in the future getting better and better each time.
