On 8th and 9th of June Year 1 students visited Year 2. They were introduced to the structure and routines followed in Year 2. Students were given information about the daily schedule, new and exciting activities and how learning and teaching takes place in Year 2.
A variety of activities from different subjects were planned which were cross linked to each other. Students were introduced to the topic habitats through an enriching story which not only includes the elements of a story but also detailed information about a habitat. Followed by a carousal of activities including Role play of the story about a habitat, research about animals and plants from a habitat, their adaptations and writing an information text about them, word problems based on different habitats, creating craft animals and plants found in a particular habitat and writing instructions to make those. Lastly students filled in the feedback forms to share their feelings about their visit to Year 2.
The emphasis of transition day was to prepare students for a change they are going to come across and to better prepare them for the next academic year.
